If there’s one thing I’m excited about for 2009, musically at least, it’s DâM-Funk‘s upcoming debut album. Unfortunately, it looks like we have to wait until the end of May for it. Well, there’s a tiny taste of it at least buried within the first segment of this week’s show, in amongst some very nice downtempo beats. Then of course, we break out the hip hop (man, i think i need to lay off ghost for a bit…) and end with one of my many favourites: Eddie Kendricks’ Girl You Need a Change of Mind. It got cut off last night, but here I can present it in it’s full 7 minute glory.
Month: January 2009
Geez. Another year already… I had big plans to do a retrospective show, but they ended up staying just that… plans. I ran out of time and threw together a show, as per usual. A bit of house, electro and breaks, before breaking into so Jamaican rhythms, and ending off with a bit of hip hop.
Nate was kind enough to let me fill in for him for full moon funkalicious on boxing day, so here’s that. No tracklist though… you’ll just have to keep your ears peeled.
