All Canadian hip hop (well, mostly – there’s a bit of non hip hop at the start) show today, with a heavy Calgary bent.

More mellow steez this week: Mostly hip hop beats, but a bit of acid jazz and soul to round things out.

Total rainy day music this week, on account of our crappy weather. It’s nice to mellow it out a bit every now and then.

A nice mix of house, uptempo funk, and then some hip hop to end off the show.

WyzeWon posted this little jem and it was the jumpoff for the classic Canadian hip hop mix in the middle of this show. $150 feels like a pretty big price tag for Mathematik’s cd. Would I feel differently if it was vinyl? … Maybe. Still, Mathematik’s debue effort was a pretty solid album, even featuring a guest spot from Bahamadia. There were quite a few solid tracks from Canadian emcees back in the day, so I thought I’d play a tiny few of my favs.
After that, a quick trip to more dance-y beats before wrapping it up.

A nice house-y start to the show tonight before dropping it down into some hip hop via a few 80s joints. Then towards the last quarter of the show, a nice little interview with Zarif Alibhai. Moka’s one of those emcees that’s been around the scene for a long time, and from the interview you can see why – He loves it. Sounds like a pretty cool guy, actually.
